Adult Faith Formation
Doctrinal themes of our Catholic Faith are developed to encourage participants to expand their understanding of the Catholic Faith.
It is never too late to start from scratch in learning about the Word of God. “Scripture from Scratch” is an adult study group, which meets from September through May to study the Scriptures, both the Old and New Testaments. We would love you to join us.
Breaking Open the Word
Weekly sessions are held every Friday morning from 7AM to 8AM to focus on reading and reflecting on the Scripture readings for the coming Sunday. As we strive to open ourselves to the “Word” we allow it to take root within us. Please join Deacon Ken Belanger any Friday morning.
Charismatic Prayer Group
This group gathers every Thursday in the school cafeteria at 8:00PM to give honor and glory to God through prayer, praise, song, scripture, teachings, petitions, and use of the gifts of the Holy Spirit found in 1 Corinthians 12. Join us and experience a personal walk with Jesus through the inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit and love of our Blessed Mother, as you grow deeper in love with God. Come and celebrate God’s healing touch in a life-changing experience.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word
This is a beautiful way to make the Liturgy of the Word meaningful for our little ones. At the 10:30AM Mass from September through May, children from pre-school through grade 3 are called forth to listen to God’s Word, reflect on its message and respond to what it means in their lives. They return to the assembly during the preparation of the gifts to join the adults as one family of faith. Please make sure your little ones are part of this beautiful experience.
Community of Disciples
Faith-sharing groups come together during Lent to read the Scriptures for the coming week so that in hearing the call of the gospel, they can allow it to transform their own lives and share it so that the lives of others may be transformed.
We are rooted in the belief that evangelization is the essential mission of the Church, the unifying focus for all ministry and the right and responsibility of all the baptized. Our belief is grounded in the Gospel, which calls each of us to “go into the whole world and proclaim the Good News to all creation.” The evangelization team offers a broad based vision that includes conversion, ongoing faith development and outreach to inactive Catholics and persons with no Church affiliation.
Legion of Mary
Members of this apostolate extend the prayer life of our parish by reaching out to the residents at Blue Bell Place and praying the Rosary with them. If you would like to be a part of this worthwhile effort, please call the contact person.
Pre-Cana (Marriage Preparation)
Pre-Cana is a marriage preparation program led by husband and wife teams and designed to help engaged couples enhance their communication, grow in their knowledge of themselves and each other, deepen their spirituality and strengthen and affirm their commitment to the sacramental bonds of Matrimony. Attendance is required for all who are planning to be married.
Pre-Jordan (Baptismal Preparation)
Our Pre-Jordan program offers help to parents and godparents in gaining a fuller understanding of the holy Sacrament of Baptism and affirms their own faith and responsibilities as their “child’s first and best teacher.” Classes are held on the first Monday of the month and attendance is required for all parents and godparents before a child is baptized. Please contact the Rectory.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.)
R.C.I.A. is a process of instruction, prayer and faith sharing, a journey towards full communion with the Catholic Church. Participants may be unbaptized, baptized in another Christian faith, or a baptized Catholic whose faith journey has been interrupted. To learn more about how to begin this process of discernment or embark on this journey of faith, please call Father Nicolo or Deacon Ken Belanger.
