RCIA

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

What is a Catechumen? What is a Candidate?

For those not familiar with these RCIA terms, a catechumen is a person who has never been baptized and who wishes to become a Roman Catholic. A candidate is a person who has been baptized, either as a Roman Catholic or in one of the Christian denominations accepted by the Church, and who now wishes to become a full member of the Catholic Church by receiving the remaining Sacraments of Initiation.

The RCIA process is designed to assist these individuals in moving toward full membership. If you or someone you know expressed a desire to experience the faith, a closeness to Jesus, in His Word and His Sacrament and His Body (the Church), now might be a good time to suggest that they write or call Father Nicolo or Deacon Belanger at the Rectory (610-275-7711). We will follow up individually with each request.
